Apple TV+ teaser announces The Morning Show Season 2 premiere, reveals first look at Julianna Margulies' character

When The Morning Show returns Sept. 17, Margulies will play news veteran Laura Peterson, who will provide a stabilizing presence on the morning news show. "Laura started kind of like a Dateline show. She's a UBA star and an icon at a Diane Sawyer level," showrunner Kerry Ehrin tells EW. "We wanted to create a mentor figure for (Reese Witherspoon's) Bradley that was somebody who does things differently." Ehrin adds: "The idea really stemmed from having a character who had done the work and what that looked like in this industry and in the UBA environment. She's at the top of her game." Margulies describes her character "as a woman who has been through the fire and back and made it out alive."
