Bob Costas recalls almost leaving NBC for CBS with David Letterman and joining 60 Minutes

Costas tells The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast that Letterman offered to have Costas, then the host of NBC's Later after Late Night with David Letterman, host The Late Late Show following Dave's Late Show on CBS. To "sweeten the pot," Costas says CBS offered to make him a correspondent on 60 Minutes. But Costas turned the jobs down because NBC was full of sports "riches" at the time and his kids were too young.
