Rosario Dawson to star in USA pilot Briarpatch from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail

Based on the Ross Thomas novel of the same name, Briarpatch stars Dawson as Allegra "Pick" Dill, a tenacious and highly skilled Washington, D.C. investigator who returns to her Texas hometown to search for the killer of her younger sister. Dawson, who has been appearing on Netflix Marvel dramas in recent years, fielded multiple offers during pilot season, but rejected them all.
