James Fenimore Cooper's historical novel is being adapted for Paramount Television with Fukunaga co-writing the script with Nicholas Osborne and Watchmen director Kassell directing. Set during the French and Indian War, The Last of the Mohicans tells the story of the unlikely romance between a young Mohican and the mixed-race daughter of a British colonel. The Last of the Mohicans has been adapted numerous times for TV and film, most famously with Michael Mann's 1992 film starring Daniel Day-Lewis,
