WATCH: Selma Blair Leaves Dancing With the Stars, Citing MS Concerns: 'I Can't Go On'

The actress brought the ballroom to tears with her final performance.
  • Selma Blair's journey on Dancing With the Stars has come to a close.

During Monday night's show, Blair told her dance partner Sasha Farber in a pre-recorded package that she would be unable to continue competing due to health concerns involving her multiple sclerosis.

"I had these MRIs and the results came back and it just all adds up to... I can’t go on with the competition," said Blair. "With a chronic illness, you do have special considerations, and my body is definitely taking a hit. It’s way too much for the safety of my bones. There’s just intensive bone trauma and inflammation... I could do extensive damage that, of course, I do not want."

Farber told Blair she was "his champion" and the two performed a gentle waltz to "What the World Needs Now", earning them a perfect score of 40 out of 40. Blair choked up and brought the cast and audience to tears as she graciously bid them all farewell.

"It's so hard for me to take care because I don't want to, 'cause I want to be here," she said. "But I know as a mom and someone that also wants to represent some people that are taking chances and sometimes there are just consequences to any chance you take. And mine is fine. I'm going to be okay."
